The Gamo WildCat Whisper pellet rifle features the IGT (Intert Gas Technology) piston that allows higher velocity, less vibration and a longer lifespan than traditional spring powered airguns. Gas pistons are known to shoot much smoother and deliver less twang and vibration to the shooter! You'll notice that gas piston pellet guns are very smooth cocking, they function better in cold weather, and have a longer lifespan than traditional, metal spring powered guns. In addition to the gas pistons the Wildcat Air Rifle also features a premium recoil pad. There's an entire industry centered around making aftermarket recoil pads. Their intent is to reduce the felt recoil, because constant recoil pounding into your shoulder is painful and will stop you from shooting as much as you want. While the gas piston is going to seriously reduce the vibration, the recoil pad will stop you from feeling most of the recoil from the remaining movement of the gun.
